A Family Friendly Pub

Situated close to the town centre and two minutes from the sea front we are the ideal location to stop and have a drink. Warm up in the winter next to our open fire and read a book from our very own book swapping shelf. Whilst saying hello to our cat (Kitty) who was a stray who wandered in and never left, a lot like most of our customers.

We boast a large garden area with plenty of outdoor seating making it perfect for our music events and enjoying the summer. The whole family can relax together with the kids making use of our outdoor play area, even the family dog being invited to join in the fun. Children are allowed in until 9pm when accompanied by an adult.

Why we are Heights of Alma

The Heights of Alma, named after the Battle of Alma was fought on the 20th September 1854, the first of the Crimean War (1853-1856). The battle took place just south of the river Alma in the Crimea Ukraine and was considered to be an outstanding France – British victory against the Imperial Russian Army, this victory created an opening which allowed the French and British forces to advance to Sebastopol and their next engagement.

A Pet Friendly Pub

Our pub Cat, named Kitty, has been with us for 11 years. He walked in as a stray kitten and decided that this was his forever home. He loves attention and a cuddle and is extremely friendly towards people.
The newest edition to our family pub is Milo the black Labrador. He’s friendly with other dogs and loves to say Hello. We are most definitely a pet-friendly pub with treats at the ready behind the bar.
